Tailings explores the characteristics of Dawson City, Yukon, through long-form documentary photography. It speaks of life in the far northern, and gives voice to the homebodies, and reminisces in the glory days. Through an exploration of Dawson City, this collection of photographs is a collision of both admiration and degradation of one's hometown.

An exclusive Tailings book launch and exhibition of Melissa Naef’s work took place on June 12th, 2025, as part of Yukon Riverside Arts Fest’s annual Gallery Hop.
